December public holidays and the turn of the year affect transport schedules across Europe

CHS and Scanlink will be closed on Friday, December 6, 2024, due to Finland's Independence Day. Our offices and customer service are open again on Monday 9 December 2024. Because of this, the unloading and distribution of import shipments will be moved to the beginning of the following week (week 50). Export shipments from Finland will be handled on Thursday, December 5, 2024. It is best to schedule export pickups for week 49 for Tuesday or Wednesday.

It is important to note that temporary congestion caused by public holidays may cause delays in road transport.

The distribution of Christmas Week (week 52) import shipments arriving from Europe to Finland will begin after the Christmas holidays on Friday, December 27, 2024, and will continue into the following week (week 1).

Road transport to Europe

Export shipments from Finland to Europe are scheduled for weeks 49 and 50, depending on the delivery destination. In weeks 51 and 52, export loadings are limited.

Week 1 export pickups are scheduled for Monday 30 December 2024, New Year's Eve Tuesday 31 December 2024, Thursday 2 January 2025 and Friday 3 January 2025. At the turn of the year, traffic in Europe is less than normal, which can increase transport times for both imports and exports.

The offices of CHS and Scanlink will also be closed on Epiphany Monday, January 6, 2025, which may affect the pick-ups and deliveries in Finland for that week.
