Information about strikes at Finnish ports / Update

The strikes of the Finnish Transport Workers' Union AKT started today, February 15, 2023. The strikes have significant effects on Finland's foreign trade and cargo transportation.

The stevedoring strike covers all ports and port operations in Finland, such as unloading, loading, receiving, and releasing units. Only modules with driver are allowed on the ships, therefore the strike will especially affect road transport and reduce the transport capacity to / from Finland by sea.

Due to the restrictions, we must use alternative routes with semi-trailer combinations. All routes have capacity limitations and for this reason international road transports are also strictly limited.

We try our best to take care of our customers' shipments with special arrangements.
Strike surcharges are added to import and export loadings to and from Finland. We inform customers about all changes.

Transport industry strikes that started today in Finland:

• 15.2 – It has been announced that the strike in the stevedoring industry will continue until further notice

• 15 – 21.2 Strike in the trucking industry

• 15 – 21.2 Strike in the tanker and oil products industry

• 15 – 22.2 Strike in the terminal sector

Strikes may also affect other forms of transportation, such as air freight. When the strike is on, it's good to note that shipping delays and disruptions cannot be avoided.

We inform our customers about all changes, and we will do our best to minimize the delays to our customers’ shipments. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the situation.
