Information about strikes at Finnish ports

Finnish Transport Workers’ Union AKT has announced a 72-hour political industrial action which affects all Finnish ports.

The work stoppage in the stevedoring industry will begin on Wednesday 14 February at 6 a.m. and end on Saturday 17 February at 6 a.m.

The effects of the strike on sea and land freight

The stevedoring strike covers all ports and port operations in Finland, such as unloading, loading, receiving, and releasing units.

Stevedoring activities at Finnish ports will be suspended during the strike, including unloading, loading, receipt, and release of units. This will cause delays for both groupage (LCL) and full container loads (FCL).

We do everything we can for our customers' transportation, but when the strikes are on, shipping delays and disruptions are inevitable.
