In week 37, there is a shortage of two ships on the Turku - Stockholm route due to maintenance dockings by the ferry company. Viking Grace and Viking Glory - ships will be serviced from 9 to 12 September 2024.
Together with CHS, we have helped numerous domestic export companies in participating in international fairs. The last project was the road transport of Finnish FMG defence to the Eurosatory trade fair in Paris, where the products had to be transported safely and carefree.
Scanlink's and CHS's offices are normally open on Thursday 20.6, but on Friday 21.6. offices and warehouses are closed on Midsummer's Eve and will open again normally on Monday 24.6.
May Day (vappu) and Ascension Day (helatorstai) are public holidays in Finland, so Scanlink´s office is closed on May 1st and Thursday 9. on Ascension Day.
Situation update on the aftereffects of the long-running political strike. The stevedores' strike in Finland ended on April 8, but the overcrowded ports are still recovering from the congestion. Due to this, there will be delays in the export and import of sea and road freight for several more weeks.
The Finnish Transport Workers’ Union AKT started a political strike of the stevedoring sector on March 11, 2024. According to the latest announcement, the strikes in Finnish ports will end and stevedoring operations will start again on Monday April 8 at 6 o'clock.
Easter holidays causes some exceptions to usual transport schedules and office hours in Finland. We recommend placing transport orders well in advance before the public holidays.
Finnish Transport Workers’ Union AKT will continue striking in all the Finnish ports until 7.4.2024, which includes the stevedoring activities. The strikes will cover all port operations in Finnish ports, including unloading, loading, receipt, and release of units.
